New Life for Mary Kay packaging

One of the most challenging geometry concepts for middle schoolers is surface area. In this lesson, students draw a net (which is a representation for surface area) for the box they are given, then cut the box to match (hopefully) their net.

San Diego for Spring Break!

We're in Sunny California!Dining in Coronado
Old Town San Diego
Jody and I love the flowers!

Hody lounging in the grand foyer at Loews Coronado. The bridge to Coronado
Palm trees don't grew well in Colorado...
Cheesin' for the camera
The resort surrounded a lovely pool area.

The USS Midway

Lenny wanted to tour an aircraft carrier. We had a private tour given by a retired pilot who had actually landed on the USS Midway.
Seventy five planes could be housed on the Midway. The wings can be folded up for storage - how cool is that!

Lenny and Dane were tickled with the tour!

Golfing in Paradise

The Coronado Golf Course is beautiful with palm trees and a couple of holes overlook the Pacific Ocean.
We could see the Coronado Bridge from the Golf Course. Lenny watching Dane's tee-shot.
Ready for the Links!

Padre Baseball

Dane discovered that the Padres were playing at home, so we attended their baseball game against the Houston Astros. Petco Stadium is wonderful - the only problem was the pesky wind.

Sea World - San Diego

Kippi and Jody with a background of flowers at the entrance to Sea World. We love the green growing things and the flowers.
Montana and Colorado are not green and growing yet.

The Dolphin show

Dolly sure can jump!

We are impressed with the leaping ability of the sea mammals.
Flock of flamingo with their backwards knees. Hody, the photographer (in her Paris Hilton sunglasses).
Up close and personal with the flamingos.

The San Diego Temple

The San Diego Temple is a marvelous structure.
It radiates light and is truly an incredible sight! The Angel Moroni
