Gardening

We got the second square foot garden finished =) These sturdy tomatoes need a support.

I feel optimistic about the watermelon and pumpkin plants!
We lost some plants over the winter...

Three dead blue spirea out front - deceased!
We replaced them with short-to-the-ground Mugo Pines:

Looks like a circus act!

I determined it was time to re-stain the wood trim around the windows, garage, front pillars, etc. The project was easy except for the second story windows above the walk-out basement... I swallowed my fear and scaled the ladder with brush and bucket. Trena said she'd call 911, if necessary. It's good to have a Trena handy.

Summer projects

My new birthday bike with comfort seat, taller handle bars, a water-bottle holder, fenders, cool little bag behind the seat, and a helmet. I freely admit I look goofy in the helmet, but I am committed to safety!

I planted some trailing petunias and marigolds in the pots out front. Some of the ground cover I planted last year is making a comeback!

Looking down onton the 4x4 garden from the deck. I have created a deer and bunny proof cage to protect my lucious plants!

The school year ends

As the school year came to a close, Hayden Webb, one of our favorite hay-boys EVER came for a post-mission visit. He brought his brother-in-law, Anna's husband, and brothers Larsen and Stewart. We tried to encourage them to leave at least one of their group with us, but were unsuccessful!
